What is the Belly Fat Cure?

The Belly Fat Cure is a new book written by Jorge Cruise that promises to help you lose four to nine pounds every week with his Carb Swap System.Belly-Fat-Cure_BOOKCORNER

The Carb Swap System involves eliminating excess sugar and processed carbohydrates. With this plan, you eat a recommended 15 grams of sugar and 6 servings of carbs each day. Being able to lose four to nine pounds each week is definitely an inspirational goal for many that are trying to lose weight. Although you can lose this amount of weight, Cruise states that only two to three pounds will be from 100% belly fat. The rest of the weight comes from false belly fat, which is trapped waste matter.

The Belly Fat Cure talks in depth about the true reason that you are overweight. According to Cruise it’s because of the hidden sweeteners in food that deliver belly-fattening sugar and carb values to your diet.

The Belly Fat Cure also offers an eating guide that gives you smart and affordable food choices. There are more than 1,500 food options that are broken into categories specifically for carboholics, meat lovers, chicken and seafood fans, chocoholics, fast-food junkies and vegans. With the Belly Fat Cure, you don’t have any specific timing or scheduling around when you eat.

Sugar/Carbohydrate Values

Cruise’s Carb Swap System, or S/C value, helps you track the amount of sugar and carbohydrates you consume each day. Your daily goal is 15 grams of sugar and six servings of carbohydrates, which equates to 120 grams. Do not count foods with fewer than 0.5 grams of sugar. Calculate carbohydrate servings based on the total number of carbohydrates a food item contains: 0 to 4 grams of carbohydrates are not counted; 5 to 30 grams equals one serving; 21 to 40 grams equals two servings and 41 to 60 grams equals three servings. Using the planner included in the book, you will mark off each day the S/C values as you consume them. If you follow the menu suggestions given in the book, the daily servings of both sugar and carbohydrates are calculated for you.

Fruit and Dairy

Cruise writes that even natural sugars, such as those found in milk and fruit, contribute to belly fat. For that reason, he suggests that you restrict your fruit consumption to low-sugar fruits, such as blueberries or blackberries. All fruit you consume counts toward your daily S/C value. Cruise also advocates replacing dairy products with whey protein, almond milk and small servings of organic whipping cream or half and half.

Belly Fat Cure Losing Weight

The Belly Fat Cure consists of a series of one-week eating plans, or challenges. After successfully completing one week, you simply repeat the plan for another week, following the same 15 sugar/6 carbohydrates formula.

Maintain

Once you reach your weight loss goal, to maintain your results, you continue following the tenets of the Belly Fat Cure. You will still restrict your fruit consumption, although you may add in up to two extra servings per day. Increase your vegetable consumption to obtain essential vitamins and minerals.

The Belly Fat Cure contains four weeks of meal plans and over 100 recipes accompanied by photos illustrating “belly good” swaps. The book is really easy to use as a reference guide, and all the photos certainly help provide motivation.

To give you an idea of the meal plans, here’s an example of what Cruise calls his “No Excuse Day,” because it’s easy to follow:

  • Breakfast: 3 eggs, 2 slices buttered toast (recommended Ezekial 4:9 Whole Grain Bread)
  • Snack: Handful of walnuts
  • Lunch: Tuna salad on one piece pita bread
  • Snack: 1 cup cottage cheese (sprinkled with approved sweetener)

Belly Fat Cure EXERCISE

Jorge Cruise does not encourage exercise for the purpose of losing weight, but for reducing stress, toning and staying strong. Exercise is not required to lose weight following the Belly Fat Cure program.

A couple of workouts that are recommended by Jorge Cruise include his program called 8 Minutes in the Morning and his advanced program called The 12-Second Sequence. Both of these exercise routines are available through books with the same titles.

Some of the exercises recommended in The Belly Fat Cure book are designed specifically to whittle down your midsection. Some of the recommendations given include:

  • Walking: get in a 20-minute power walk as often as possible
  • 8 Minute Ab Sculptor program: Toe reach, reverse crunch and other exercises

Maintaining your weight loss is all about balance, you should try to follow the 80/20 rule. Focus 80 percent of the time on eating healthy, belly-friendly foods that shrink the waistline and fight inflammation. Then 20 percent of the time, you have room to veer off track a bit. This 20 percent is your splurge. You may choose to have one day a week where you have a splurge meal, or you may opt for a small snack twice a week where you don’t exactly make the healthiest choice.

Follow the 80/20 rule. This rule says to have a small splurge 20 percent of the time, but this splurge must be within reason. If every 5 days you eat an entire pizza and a gallon of ice cream, you’re going to gain weight back no matter what you do the rest of the week.

CONCLUSIONThe Belly Fat Cure by well-known fitness guru, Jorge Cruise, is a book that will give you the results you’re looking for and help you lose weight at a consistent rate. The program does seem to be mainly for those looking to reduce belly fat rather than their overall weight. If belly fat has been a problem for you, this program might serve as a great guide to help with that.

There are several delicious recipes included no matter what type of eater you are. The book does include both an eating and exercise plan, although the exercise portion is completely optional. Getting rid of belly fat can be a great step towards improving your overall health.
